Funding options exists for families who may require assistance

 

KidSport Funding

We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.  Kidsport will provide funding for qualified applicants up to $250 per calendar year (January – December).

You can apply for assistance online when submitting your registration with EMSA North online, please ensure you have your financial information available to upload.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged kids participate in organized sport and recreation. Jumpstart offers eligible children up to $300/application, and up to $600/year towards registration fees and/or the cost of sports equipment.

Applications for assistance can be submitted from January 16 to June 1 for spring/summer programs, and from July 1 to November 1 for fall/winter programs. It is recommended that you apply early to avoid ay applications that cannot be processed due to Jumpstart running out of funding because of high demand.

Be prepared to provide your contact information and the details of the sport or recreational activity your child would like to participate in. You may also be asked to provide financial information in order to prove eligibility for funding. Applicants will be notified by the local Canadian Tire Jumpstart Chapter representative if they are approved or if further information is required.

North Zone Funding Program

The North Zone has a self funded financial assistance program which allocates a certain amount each season to players in need. This program is geared to athletes who could normally not play even with the approval and funding through Kidsport and Jumpstart.

This program can be applied for through the North Zone once Kidsport and Jumsptart applications have been submitted and approved. If approved for the NZ funding program, the remainder or partial remainder of fees due after KS and JS is approved will be covered.

Soles For Soccer

No Child should be unable to play because they cannot access proper footwear.
Our office is open 12pm-4pm Tuesday to Thursday if you would like to donate gently used soccer shoes.
If you are in need please reach out to programs@emsanorth.ca to find out if we have a pair of shoes in your size. All donations received will be given to an athlete in need free of charge.

 


Registration fees due will not be adjusted until confirmation from Kidsport, Jumpstart, or any other funding organization that an application has been submitted. Please see our Funding Policy for more information.
