Soles for Soccer

Our program was created with three key factors in mind: a Need, a Want, and a Worry.

The Need: Parents shared their struggle of not being able to provide proper soccer shoes for their children.

The Want: Every child deserves the chance to fit in with their peers and feel included.

The Worry: Children often have to wear shoes that don’t fit properly—too small, too tight, too large, or just worn out.

Determined to make a change, we created Soles for Soccer!

Our team at EMSA North has worked tirelessly throughout the year to collect gently used shoes and shin pads to offer to anyone who comes to us with a child in need.

Since launching the program during the 2024 outdoor soccer season, we’ve helped 60 kids, with many others still seeking assistance.

How to Donate

We are always looking for donations!

Our hope is for this program to keep growing as long as the Need, Want and Worry exist. We don’t want to turn anyone away, so if you can look into your closets and look at your children’s past soccer shoes, see if there are some that can be donated. Have they outgrown them and are they in decent condition? Think of us and consider donating to Soles for Soccer.

We will clean, disinfect and repackage them to make them special for the next child to use.

Don’t have any shoes but are still looking to donate to the program? We are a non profit organization where any monetary donations given, you will receive a tax receipt.

Other ways of donating could be purchasing an extra pair of shoes to donate to the program or having a shoe drive at work. We are always looking for regular running shoes for the indoor season in kids and adult sizes.

Please consider dropping off your donations at our office or contact any of our community league partners to see if they have a shoe drive or donation sight already started at their community league.

How to Request Equipment

If you are a parent whose child requires shoes or shin pads for the upcoming soccer season, please contact us via email: staff@emsanorth.ca

Soles for Soccer will open during the registration period. Any interested parents can contact the office for more information via email or phone.

Due to low inventory, our program is only open to fully registered community soccer players at this time. We can only provide a maximum of one pair of shoes and/or one pair of shin pads per player/year.
